The Inspiration

The Bairn Foundation was inspired by couples and individuals who want to have children, but are unable to conceive. Having children is part of the American Dream, but those dreams can be hard to achieve when you can't conceive on your own. Whether your are a man and a women, two men, two women, a transgender couple or an individual making the commitment to have children, the Bairn Foundation seeks to assist the Surrogacy process through financial aid.  

The Story Behind the Name

The Bairn Foundation gets its name from the Scottish word: Bairn (pronounced \bern\). Why such an obscure reference to the word Child? Our founder, Jonathan Malone-McGrew, has family heritage in both Irish and Scottish tradition. The McGrew's have a strong tie to Scotland. That coupled with Jonathan's marriage to his husband Brandon Malone-McGrew, creates a connection through familial ties to Bairn and the dreams of wanting to build a family of their own. While not the catchiest phrase, the depth of meaning, like the love we have for the children we bring into the world, we believe brings a warmth and passion to the foundation. 

The Foundation

As a Non-Profit, we were incorporated in the State of Colorado on New Year's Day, January 1, 2015. Yes, we are young, but we have passion and a plan. With our 501c3 status granted by the Federal Government in September of 2015, we are confident we will not only make a difference, but allow our donors to make tax-exempt donations (of course, consult your tax professional) in order to help others achieve their dream of starting a family from birth.

In short: We create families. Our passion and drive as a non-profit is to raise money to help start the next generation of teachers, lawyers, doctors, charitable workers and more. Our mission is simple: Bring financial aid to people who are unable to have children on their own and cannot afford to make their dreams come true without support, kindness and generosity of our fellow Americans.
